PROSPECTIVE GRADUATE STUDENTS

Planning your visit in advance can help you economize.

Transportation to UND can be arranged on the following carriers.

  • Transportation Services from Airport, Bus, or Train Stations
    • Red, White, and Blue Taxi and Shuttle Service - (701) 330-9640
    • City Cab Taxi - (701) 610-3369
    • Grand Forks Taxi - (701) 780-8890
    • Nodak Radio Cab Co - (701) 772-3456

Please note that public transportation in Grand Forks has limited hours of service and taxis can be somewhat costly, and plan accordingly.

UND provides a complimentary campus shuttle for the convenience of current and visiting students. The Grand Forks City Buses provide in-town transportation between the campus and business districts for a fee.

Lodging once you are here can be at any one of a number of regional motels.  Dormitory housing may also be available at a lower rate. Applicants who will not have a car, should try to arrange dormitory housing, as the motels are some distance from campus.

Meals can be purchased at the University Dining Centers or On-Campus Eateries.

Arranging your audition and visit to the department and campus should be high on your list of things to do.  The Graduate Director will set up communication between you and a faculty member in your area.  The faculty member will arrange your audition and a rehearsal for it. You should also arrange a time to meet that faculty member and the Director of Graduate Studies.  A visit to the Graduate School office is often useful, to make sure your application materials are complete.   And, you may wish to sit in on rehearsals of ensembles in your performing area.  Please remain in contact with your prospective teacher and the graduate director.  They can assist you in making sure your visit is maximally productive.

Enrollment Services can arrange a tour of the campus for you.   The Music Department Office may be able to arrange for a student to guide you around the Department.
