Facilities

The Department of Music, housed in the north wing of UND's Edmond A. Hughes Fine Arts Center, has complete and modern facilities for advanced education in music. Major instructional features of the music wing include individual practice rooms, rehearsal halls designed specifically for choral and instrumental ensembles, classrooms, keyboard and music technology laboratories and student lockers. The Music Library contains music scores, recordings, and other musical literature, listening equipment and study space for music students. The Center also has faculty facilities, including administrative offices and private lesson studios.

Two main concert halls are available for use by the Department of Music. The Josephine Campbell Recital Hall, located in the Hughes Fine Arts Center, is a 200-seat, acoustically tuned facility with professional lighting and sound systems. The other main hall is the nearby 2,300-seat Chester Fritz Auditorium, regarded as one of the finest performance facilities in the Upper Midwest.
