NDPERS web site features retirement plan information
Two web videos discussing the NDPERS retirement plans’ funded status have been produced and are available on the PERS web site at http://www.nd.gov/ndpers/ . In the videos, Sparb Collins, executive director, NDPERS, discusses the challenge facing the PERS retirement plan as a result of the downturn in the financial markets and the various considerations relating to that challenge. Part One discusses the challenge and Part Two discusses the considerations. Part Three (to be produced by the end of March) will review the proposed legislation submitted by the PERS Board to the Legislative Employee Benefits Programs Committee. The 2009 comprehensive annual financial report is submitted yearly to the Government Finance Officers Association with an application for the GFOA Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting. This report provides information on the financial, investments, actuarial and statistics of the PERS retirement plan. Go to the PERS web site (www.nd.gov/ndpers/ ) and click on the icon titled “2009 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.”
