Aerospace hosts reception for Vishnu Reddy Kanupuru, inaugural recipient of aerospace Ph.D. The John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences will host a reception Friday, Dec. 18, for the recipient of the School's first Ph.D., Vishnu Reddy Kanupuru. The reception will be held at 8:15 a.m. in the Department of Earth System Science and Policy, third floor, Clifford Hall. The University community is welcome to join this celebration. The reception is sponsored by Bruce Smith, dean of the Odegard School. "The graduation of our first doctorate is truly a historical landmark for the Odegard School," said Smith. Kanupuru, a native of India and a well-known asteroid hunter, will receive his doctorate in Earth System Science and Policy (ESSP) with a focus on space studies, at the graduate commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday at the UND winter commencement ceremonies. Minnesota Twins President Dave St. Peter will deliver the commencement address.
