Conflict Resolution Center offers multi-track mediation training
The Conflict Resolution Center will offer Multi-Track Mediation Training. Choose the training that suits you best. It's nice to know that your desire to make peace is a job skill. Both seminars will be held Jan. 4-8, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Swanson Hall.
Track I: 40-Hour Family Mediation
Learn skills essential for becoming a family mediator.
Our family mediation seminar will encompass: understanding the dynamics of conflict; impact of family conflict and divorce on parents and children; transformative Mediation Theory role of empowerment and recognition; mediator skills and interventions ethics/professional responsibility; identifying and screening domestic violence issues, role of family law in mediation
Track II: 40-Hour Civil and Workplace Mediation
Learn new or add to your existing skills in working more effectively with conflict in the community, in neighborhoods, civil disputes, and workplace settings. Our Civil and Workplace Mediation Training will encompass: Understanding the dynamics of conflict; the art of having difficult conversations (one on one skills); impact of conflict on human interaction and relationships; transformative mediation theory role of empowerment and recognition; mediator skills and interventions; contexts for using the mediation process; ethics/professional responsibility.
Cost for faculty and staff: $300 (off-campus rate is $875). Please register before December 1, 2009.
Track III: 4-Hour workshop on the art of having difficult conversations, Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, 1 to 5 p.m. Cost: $75 for this half-day
Professional Continuing Education Credits Available: ND/MN CLE, ND/MN ADR, NDAPA, HRCI (Civil & Workplace), NDSWE, ND Counseling, and 2 UND Continuing Ed. Grad Credits ($50/credit additional). Please contact us for registration or with any questions you may have. --
