NSF Small Business Innovation Research Program proposal deadline is Dec. 3 The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program (NSF 09-609) stimulates technological innovation in the private sector by strengthening the role of small business concerns in meeting Federal research and development needs, increasing the commercial application of federally supported research results, and fostering and encouraging participation by socially and economically disadvantaged and women-owned small businesses. Proposals may only be submitted by for-profit organizations: U.S. commercial organizations, especially small businesses with strong capabilities in scientific or engineering research or education.
