Nursing hosts Visiting Scholar Lecture April 23 The College of Nursing will host a Visiting Scholar Lecture at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 23, in Room 248 of the Northern Plains Center for Behavioral Research (NPCBR). Ann Horgas will present "Pain Management in Aging." She is an associate professor and associate dean for research at the University of Florida College of Nursing. She is currently funded by the National Institute on Aging to study cognitive interventions for older adults, and recently completed an NINR-funded study of pain assessment in nursing home residents. Dr. Horgas is a consultant for the newly established Gerontological Nursing Specialization. Students who complete this master of science degree course of study are eligible for the American Nurse Credentialing Center examination for certification as a gerontological nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist.
