Statement from President Robert Kelley This weekend a UND football player was arrested for attacking and injuring fellow students and a staff member. Our thoughts go out to those who were injured, and also to their families and friends. This is a very serious matter, so I want to be very clear: the University of North Dakota will have ZERO TOLERANCE for violent behavior and for any individual who engages in violent behavior. UND Police arrested the perpetrator and our Student and Outreach Services folks are doing everything possible for the injured students and staff member. UND Athletics acted swiftly in suspending the student from the football team. We will not get out ahead of due process, but I want to make it clear that in addition to whatever penalties are applied by the court of law, the student faces sanctions through UND's judicial process. We want to send a strong message that we will NOT tolerate violence on our campus and that this behavior is antithetical to the values of the University of North Dakota.
