Webcast of Annular Solar Eclipse in Jakarta Two UND professors, Timothy Young (physics) and Ronald Marsh (computer science), will travel to Indonesia to broadcast a live webcast of the Jan. 26 annular solar eclipse. This will be the 12th webcast that this team has produced and provided to the world via the World Wide Web. The narrow path of this eclipse begins in the South Atlantic Ocean traversing the Indian Ocean and ends over Indonesia. The only land in the path is Indonesia where the UND eclipse team will be located (Java or Sumatra). The UND eclipse team will transmit the annular solar eclipse live with multicast technology and will have a chat room where anyone can share the experience with viewers from around the world. Schools, libraries and the public are being urged to tune in to this unique event and experience it live.
