Louise Eberwein Women Studies scholarship winner announced

The Women Studies Program is pleased to announce the 2007-08 Louise Eberwein Memorial Scholarship winner, Heather Jackson. The Louise Eberwein Scholarship was established by an annoymous friend after the death of Louise from breast cancer in 2004. Louise was a Grand Forks resident active in her children's schools, the North Dakota Museum of Art, and the North Dakota Ballet Company. She was a lover of books and ideas, and a wonderful friend to other women. This year's scholarship winner, Heather Jackson, a sociology major, embodies the values Louise Eberwein held dear: activism, intellectual curiosity, a love of words, and positive mothering. We are excited to provide Jackson with a scholarship in the amount of $500 to further her education. Any current UND student who has taken Intro to the Study of Women, is a mother and activist, is invited to apply for next year's scholarship.
