Presenter: Allison Peyton. “BaFa BaFa” Cultural Simulation Exercise Thursday, Feb. 28, noon to 2 p.m., Swanson Hall, Rooms 10-12 and 16-18 BaFa BaFa is a cultural simulation game that teaches participants a great deal about cultural differences, assumptions, and misunderstandings. The overall purpose of the game is to increase cultural awareness and sensitivity among participants, to improve their ability to work with and relate to members from cultures that differ from their own. Participants are divided into two groups, each adopting a previously unknown culture. When members from the differing cultures visit each other’s group, observations are made and conclusions discussed. This activity increases cultural awareness and sensitivity among participants, and assists employees, students, and professionals from all areas in working with diverse populations.
