Rodney Ewing presents next LEEPS lectures Rodney Ewing, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, presents the next LEEPS lectures Friday, Feb. 22. At noon Ewing will discuss “Nuclear Energy Issues: Plutonium vs. Carbon,” in 100 Leonard Hall. At 3 p.m. he will present “Pyrochlore: The Elegant Response of a Simple Structure to Extreme Conditions,” in 109 Leonard Hall. The Department of Geology and Geological Engineering Leading Edge of Earth and Planetary Science lecture program (LEEPS) brings nationally and internationally known scientists and others to UND to give talks on cutting edge science and engineering. Lectures cover a wide range of topics, including academic science, applied engineering, and environmental issues of current significance.
