Disease prevention research seminar is Dec. 17


Edward Sauter, professor and vice chair for research, University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine, Hugh E. Stephenson, Jr. Department of Surgery, Columbia, Mo., will present a research seminar titled “Translating Research Into Disease Prevention, Early Detection and Therapy,” from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, in the Reed T. Keller Auditorium, Room 1350, School of Medicine and Health Sciences. His presentation will include a description of his professional background and accomplishments, as well as some of his current research interests. Dr. Sauter is a candidate for the position of associate dean for research at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. An open forum will follow from 3:15 to 4 p.m. with research-oriented faculty in the Reed T. Keller Auditorium, Room 1350. The purpose of this meeting is to provide faculty with an opportunity to meet Dr. Sauter and to discuss expectations for the next associate dean for research. This is especially informative for faculty currently funded or currently seeking funding.
