Beginner’s Running Group to meet at Lincoln Park
Have you ever watched people running and wondered if you could do it too? Are you a walker who’s ready to take the next step and start running? Do you want to take part in a 5K run/walk, and actually run instead of walk? If you said yes to any of these questions, Red River Runners Grand Forks has the plan for you.
The Beginner’s Running Group is designed to help people progress from walking for 30 minutes to running for 30 minutes using a gradual progression of run/walk intervals over a 12 week period. Experienced runners will lead you through the program and have you ready to run your first race during Grand Forks own Wild Hog 5K (3.1 mile) event on Sept. 29.
There will be a gathering at Lincoln Park at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, for anyone interested in finding out more information. At 6:30 we will take a short group walk with refreshments following.
