Staff Senate is proud to announce the May U-Shine Award recipient is Jay Kollin, Building Services supervisor at the Wellness Center for Facilities. Jay was nominated by Kim Ruliffson, coordinator of Work Well, Health and Wellness, and was presented with a check for $50 and a certificate by Staff Senate President Patricia Young.

This award is presented monthly to a staff member who went out of his or her way to make UND a better place.

Here is an excerpt of what was said about Jay: “I am grateful for Jay. He is positive and kind to everyone every day. He regularly asks if I need help and I am thankful for his genuine caring nature. He helps me carry in and carry out large amounts of equipment for health screenings. One day I was very busy and was going to have my assistant finish the work, but walked back into the shipping and receiving room, and he had stacked everything on a dolly ready to go. I am always thankful for Jay and how he helps even when I am sure he has other things to get done.”

All staff members are eligible to receive this award. Nominations can be submitted through the Staff Senate web site at http://und.edu/staff-senate/; forms are available at Facilities, Dining Services and the Memorial Union Post Office. Nominations must be received by the 15th of each month.
