Staff Senate is proud to announce the January U Shine Award recipient is Jay Smith from technology support at the Memorial Union. Jay was presented with a check for $50 and a certificate by Staff Senate President Kristi Swartz.

This award is presented monthly to a UND staff member who went out of his or her way to make UND a better place.

Here is an excerpt of what was said about Jay: Jay & I were walking back from Hyslop when he noticed a female student sitting on the sidewalk.  She said she felt dizzy and didn't dare walk. Jay went over to Student Health and got a wheelchair and took her to Student Health.

All UND staff members are eligible to receive this award. Nominations can be submitted through the Staff Senate Website, http://und.edu/staff-senate/ or forms are available at UND Facilities, Dining Services and the Memorial Union Post Office.
Nominations must be received by the 15th of each month.
