University Letter

The search process for the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences has concluded this year without the naming of a permanent Dean for the College.  I will be meeting with the College Council and with the College faculty to review the situation and gather insights on how to move forward.

The members of the search committee and all others who gave their time and talent to this process are to be commended for their commitment to the College’s future.  I am especially grateful that Interim Dean Kathleen Tiemann has agreed to serve another year in that role, providing the College with continuity in leadership through the resumption of the search process.  I know that the College and our university community will benefit from the same dedication to student, staff, and faculty success that Dr. Tiemann has demonstrated throughout her career at UND.
