Welcome to the Teacher Education program in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of North Dakota. I am Dan Rice, Dean of the College.
Our Teacher Education program at the University of North Dakota is the largest and most comprehensive in the state of North Dakota and the region. Our degree programs extend from Early Childhood Education through higher education. Our programs include, in addition to Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Middle Level, Secondary in a wide range of subject areas, Physical Education, and several areas of study in Special Education. The program prepares professional educators in Educational Leadership and Counseling. We also offer an innovative master’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology which may be taken entirely online. The degrees in the college include the bachelors, master, specialist, and doctoral degrees.
The Teacher Education program at UND has a lengthy and impressive history of partnerships with Tribal Colleges and American Indian communities in North Dakota.
The Teacher Education program at UND has an unusually strong and positive relationship with the Grand Forks School District, as well as many rural school districts that host our Special Education resident teachers, and with the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction.
Recruiters from schools all over the nation come to our campus to hire our students. Our graduates teach and work in educational settings around the world. More of our students are completing the student teaching requirement in exciting and diverse communities across the U.S. and in international settings.
The faculty are scholars who are dedicated to the improvement of professional practice and value excellent teaching.
Best wishes to you from the faculty and staff of the Teacher Education program at the University of North Dakota.
